Putting a face with the name...

So, it seemed a good idea to post a recent photo of Len Humphries, since there may be people visiting the blog who may have never met him.

A nice picture of a very professional man who works hard for Fremont County.

The Caucus

Well, the caucus was a success all around. We had plenty of support from friends and family. There was quite a turn out which was great! A lot of flyers were taken, and thanks so much to Daris and Donna for your help with your popcorn machine. Thank you to everyone else who was there and gave of your time in support of our sheriff. It is greatly appreciated! Here are some pictures that were taken at the caucus...

It's Official...

We have the campaign disclosure manual from the county clerk which contains all of the forms and rules that we need to follow in order to run for re-election for Sheriff. There will be brochures available at the upcoming county caucus. So, be sure to stop by and visit with Len Humphries when you attend the caucus. He can answer any questions that you might have and address concerns you may have about your county.

Some news is that Jane Haeberle will be the treasurer again this time around. She is sure to do a great job. Thank you, Jane!

Other news is that there is one opponent so far, who will be running for Sheriff as well. So, the race is on, and may the best man win.

Meridian, ID –POST Division Administrator, William L. Flink and members of the POST Council will present Sheriff Len C. Humphries the POST Executive Certificate—the highest certificate awarded to peace officers in this state.

Sheriff Humphries first became interested in law enforcement when a friend invited him to join the Fremont County Reserve program in 1982. He enjoyed the experience and in 1988, accepted a deputy position for Fremont County Sheriff’s Office where he worked as a patrol deputy for six years. During this time, besides duties in patrol, he was given the responsibility to manage the installation of enhanced 911, the new radio communications and conversion to computers for records management and computer aided dispatching. In 1994, he left law enforcement and went to work for a company in Denver, installing enhanced 911 and telephone systems for public safety across the United States. He came back to Idaho and Fremont County in 2000, working as chief deputy for Terry Thompson, then later as a detective and then chief deputy for Tom Stegelmeier. After the 2004 election cycle, he went back to work for Nine One One, Inc. He decided to run for public office and won the 2008 election for Sheriff of Fremont County.

Sheriff Humphries serves on the Idaho Council on Domestic Violence and Victim Assistance. He is an active member of the Idaho Sheriffs’ Association serving on the operations committee. He serves as Secretary for the Idaho Association of Counties and he is serving as President of the Tri County Sheriffs’ Association. He graduated from the National Sheriffs’ Institute in 2010.

Sheriff Humphries and his wife, Johanna, reside in St. Anthony. They are the parents of five children and have 11 grandchildren. In the Sheriff’s spare time, he enjoys digital photography and shooting handguns. He competes in several shooting competitions a year.

Campaign kickoff

This year is re-election time for all sheriffs in Idaho and I am running for re-election for Fremont County. We will start the process by filing my petition the end of this month with the county Clerk. It is signed and ready to be filed as soon as the clerk will start accepting petitions.

The next event will be the Republican Party Presidential Caucus which will be March 6 at the North Fremont High School. It starts at 5:30 in the afternoon with registrations and presentations and the voting will start at 7:00. There will be food, music, entertainment and presentations about the candidates who are looking to gain Idaho's delegates. I will have a booth at the caucus with information about me and what I believe is important for Fremont County's Sheriff to do.

If you have a chance, come by my booth and say hi.

I took the above photo up Targhee Creek 10/14/2011 at 2:43 pm.
